History
  As The Wheels Turn
Bay Area Skate Club (Northern Cali)

In the beginning...1993  The founding members Rich, Karen, Yolanda, Kevin & Eric (not in pic.) were all members of another skate club, by the name of "Somebody's Skate Club".  However, Somebody's had no direction, vision, or goals, and as a result, the club fell apart. But several of us continued our weekly traditions which consisted of going out to eat after the skate session. We ate at high priced restaurants such as "Denny's". We also celebrated Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Birthdays. All in a family enriched enviroment.
As time passed (3yrs) we realized that the five of us shared the same visions, goals and values. Then in 1996, these like ideas lead to the formation of "As The Wheels Turn Skate Club."  Although there were only five of us, we were family. We started planning  many events. We (Yolanda & Karen ) decided that we needed some type of uniforms in order to identify who we were. After weekly shopping at the local flea market (Durant Square) one of our first club shirts were fake "FUBU" shirts. You know..."PB," but we looked good.
People started to take notice and started asking questions, "Who are you guys? What are you doing? Are you all some type of skate club? etc."  To our suprise, many people had some of the same visions and values as us. Then the club began to grow, slowly but surely.

We currently consist of approximately forty-five members, and an unknown amount of supporters.
Several of our members have performed in fund raisers, weddings, parties, skate contests, schools etc. We have traveled to several cities to get our roll on. We also have an Annual picnic, Movie nights, Bowling, Annual trips to Southern Cali, Dinner night, and several other activities.

We don't practice in recruiting members, because we don't believe in pressuring people. We feel that you should be able to join on your own free will.  However, if you are interested in becoming part of this great organization, feel free to contact us via e-mail at asthewheelsturn@asthewheelsturn.com, leave your name, contact number, and the best time to call and we will call you ASAP.  Or if you happen to be in Northern Cali, venture over to San Jose/Aloha Skate San Jose, CA.397 Blosson Hill Road. We skate on Sunday nights     8:00pm to 11:00 pm.
